The Best Part of Living in La Paz Is… You’re Already Here

If you’re anything like me and my partner Noelle, you crave new places the way some people crave dessert. The world feels too big to see it all. But living in Mexico changes the math completely.
From our home base in La Paz, Mexico, we can hop to a new city for a long weekend without wrecking the budget or losing a day to airports. La Paz International Airport (LAP) is modern, efficient, and well connected, making travel simple. A Friday flight lands us in a different vibe—with unique architecture, climate, and culture—and we’re back by Monday to water the plants and give our dog Moby a scratch.
Affordable Weekend Trips Across Mexico
Picture this: sipping smoky mezcal cocktails in a tucked-away bar, wandering through a Mérida mercado for late-night cochinita pibil, catching a favorite band touring through Mexico City, or tracing

Art Deco facades while café-hopping in Guadalajara. Travel here is about fun and discovery and easy logistics.
We’ve already grabbed affordable local flights from La Paz to Mérida, Puerto Vallarta, and Guadalajara. Next up? More day trips around Baja California Sur—over to Todos Santos for turtle hatching or down to the foodie scene in Los Cabos. After that, maybe Puebla for the mole, maybe Oaxaca for the art. The beauty is, it’s all within reach and convenient.
Why Living in Mexico Can Mean Constant Adventure

Living here doesn’t just mean “settling down.” It means waking up with the whole country as your backyard. Whether it’s sipping cocktails by the beach, exploring colonial plazas, or discovering new hiking trails, life in Mexico is one continuous adventure.
Did you know there's white water rafting in Chiapas? That tickets to shows in Mexico City are usually cheaper than up in the States and Canada?
